This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite aired live from Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington, featuring a huge Continental title match between Kazuchika Okada and Dax Harwood.
(1) BLACKPOOL COMBAT CLUB (Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson) vs. KYLE FLETCHER & JEFF COBB
Cobb and Fletcher attacked Moxley during his entrance, until Bryan Danielson showed up to make the save. Danielson blasted Fletcher with a basement dropkick and threw Cobb into the barricade. Moxley turned Fletcher inside out with a lariat while Danielson clobbered Cobb with a dropkick to the chest. Danielson pummeled Cobb with kicks to the chest while Moxley cracked Fletcher with a running knee into the barricade. Once the match started, Danielson attacked Cobb with a load of kicks to the chest and a shotgun dropkick. Moxley beat Cobb down with forearm strikes, setting him up for a dropkick to the knee.
Danielson trapped Moxley in a Figure 4, setting him up for an elbow drop from Moxley for a two count. Cobb cornered Moxley, allowing Fletcher to tag in and nail Moxley with numerous right hands. Moxley withstood Fletcher’s chops and attacked him with chops of his own. Moxley bit Fletcher’s head and dropped him with a superplex, setting him up for an armbar. Danielson crushed Fletcher with a diving double stomp the back, as AEW Dynamite went to commercials.

Back from break, Moxley and Fletcher exchanged forearm strikes, until Fletcher took a cheap shot at Danielson. Moxley blocked a German suplex from Cobb and dropped him with one of his own. Danielson got the hot tag to blast Cobb with a missile dropkick and knock Fletcher off the apron with a shotgun dropkick. Danielson attacked Cobb with kicks to the chest and knocked him off his feet with a running lariat, setting him up for the YES kicks. Fletcher tried to grab Danielson’s leg, but Danielson shut him down with a suicide dive. Cobb dropped Danielson with a uranage and forearm strike, only to miss a follow-up standing moonsault.
Cobb countered a Busaiku Knee with a Spin Cycle, forcing him to tag Moxley in. Moxley and Fletcher exchanged big boots to the face, until Fletcher caught Moxley with a leg lariat into the ropes. Moxley turned Fletcher inside out with a lariat and took care of Cobb with a cutter. Fletcher laid Moxley out with a Michinokiou Driver, only for Danielson to break the pinfall. Fletcher and Cobb hit Moxley with corner uppercuts and enzuigiris, setting him up for a Tombstone Piledriver for a nearfall. Moxley shoved Cobb into Fletcher, allowing Danielson to knock Cobb out with a Busaiku Knee. Danielson cracked Fletcher with a roundhouse kick and Moxley finished him with the Death Rider.
WINNERS: Blackpool Combat Club at 12:57 (***3/4)
– After the match, Konosuke Takeshita laid Jon Moxley out with a German suplex and a forearm strike. Kyle Fletcher and Jeff Cobb beat Bryan Danielson down, until Claudio Catagnoli showed up to make the save.
– A video package was shown showcasing Swerve Strickland’s numerous media appearances and how the Mogul Embassy turned on him.
ADAM COPELAND CALLS OUT MALAKAI BLACK
– Adam Copeland showed up on the entrance way, but Brody King and Buddy Matthews immediately attacked him from behind. They threw him into the steel steps and nailed him with a Curb Stomp, as Malakai Black walked down the ramp. Black asked Copeland why he still tried to keep up this facade before Matthews forcibly took out his wedding ring. King prepared to go for a cannonball, but Kyle O’Reilly showed up to take Black and Matthews out. King turned Kyle inside out with a lariat, setting him up for The End from Black. The House of Black crushed Copeland with a triple strike into the corner to stand tall.
– A recap of Eddie Kingston facing Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence was shown and being attacked by the Young Bucks and Jack Perry.
– Backstage, The Elite talked about Eddie Kingston being injured and asked their opponents if they wanted to forfeit. While the Bucks gloated, Kazuchika Okada told Dax Harwood that he would destroy him.

– A commercial revealed that the Young Bucks partnered with Reebok to release a personalized version of the Reebok Pumps.
– Backstage, Renee Paquette asked FTR if they would forfeit their match at Double Or Nothing. Cash said that they wouldn’t forfeit and that they might have found a new partner while Dax suggested that Okada was the Elite’s b*tch.
– Jack perry was on the commentary table for the next match.
(2) YOUNG BUCKS (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) vs. MATT SYDAL & CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
Sydal blasted Nicholas with a series of kicks to the legs and a jumping knee. Daniels slapped Matthew and pummeled him with a bunch of right hands, followed by a clothesline. Daniels knocked Nicholas off the apron and landed on his feet off a back suplex. Sydal and Daniels knocked Matthew down with a series of kicks and a standing Mariposa for a two count. Matthew knocked Daniels off the apron and cracked him with a knee from the apron, as AEW Dynamite went to an ad break.

Back from break, Sydal clobbered the Bucks with kicks to the legs and put them down with a double hurracarrana. Daniels got the hot tag to put the Bucks down with clotheslines and a Death Valley Driver. Matthew attacked Daniels from behind, only for Daniels to plant him and Nicholas with a DDT and flatliner combination. Daniels laid Nicholas out with an STO, only for Matthew to clock him with a superkick.
Sydal sent Matthew out of the ring with a leaping thrust kick. Matthew threw Sydal over the barricade while Nicholas poked Daniels’ eyes. Nicholas cracked Daniels with an enzuigiri before receiving a palm strike atop the turnbuckle. Matthew saved Nicholas from an avalanche hurracarrana, making Daniels crash into the mat. The Bucks immediately spiked Daniels with the TK Driver for the three count.
WINNERS: Young Bucks at 8:30 (***)
– After the match, Matthew Jackson grabbed a mic and claimed that they were trying to clear the toxicity from backstage. Matthew announced that Daniels has been fired, would receive a severance package for 30 days and would be escorted out of the arena. Jack Perry stood up from the commentary table and poured an energy drink on Tony Schiavone’s head.
– Backstage, Renee Paquette interviewed Toni Storm about her match with Harley Cameron and Serena Deeb’s assault. Storm said that she would beat Cameron and thanked Deeb for knocking her out, so she wouldn’t have to hear her sob story.

– Backstage, Malakai Black mocked how Adam Copeland was being held back by a simple trinket. Black agreed to face Copeland, as long as Copeland bent his knee to the House of Black after he beat him.
(3) HOOK vs. SEBASTIAN WOLFE
Hook avoided a clothesline and put Wolfe down with a backdrop driver. Hook pummeled Wolfe with a bunch of forearms and forced him to tap out with the Redrum.
WINNER: Hook at 0:28 (*)
– After the match, Hook grabbed a mic and called out Chris Jericho, so he could get back his FTW title. Chris Jericho and Big Bill made their way to the ring to claim that he was happy to share the spotlight with someone like Hook. Hook challenged Jericho to a title match tonight, but Jericho declined. Jericho told Hook that he should learn that not everything revolves around him. Jericho told Hook that he should learn that he can’t just walk back to the front of the line. He confirmed that Hook would get a rematch if he won a qualification match on Collision. Hook accepted the offer before clobbering Jericho with a mic and pummeling him down. Bill overpowered Hook, until Katsuyori Shibata ran down to make the save.
– Backstage, Swerve Strickland talked about putting down the Gates of Agony on Collision. Swerve told Christian Cage that he might have been put in the coffin, but he would be the one to put him in the grave. Swerve said that tonight he would put the final nail on the coffin of the Mogul Embassy.
(4) SWERVE STRICKLAND vs. BRIAN CAGE
Swerve immediately blasted Cage with a double knee strike, only for Cage to retaliate with corner clotheslines. Swerve landed on his feet off a back suplex and low-bridged Cage out of the ring. Cage caught a suicide dive, but Swerve blocked a vertical suplex and took him out with a pump kick. Swerve nailed Cage’s arm with a diving stomp from the apron. Cage pulled Swerve into the ring post, only for Swerve to hyper-extend his arm into the top rope.
Swerve dropped Cage with a rolling flatliner for a close two count. Cage rammed Swerve with shoulder thrusts and chops to the chest before blocking the JML Driver. Swerve caught Cage with a boot to the face, only for Cage to plant him with a bodyslam into the corner, as AEW Dynamite went to a commercial break.

Back from break, Cage laid Swerve out with a delayed vertical superplex for a two count. Swerve drove Cage head-first into the corner and nailed him with a running boot to the face. Cage turned Swerve inside out with a lariat, only for Swerve to immediately crack him with a basement dropkick. Swerve clocked Cage with a diving uppercut to the back and shocked him with a deadlift brainbuster for a nearfall. Cage blocked the rolling flatliner with a jumping knee, but Swerve countered Weapon X with an armbar. Cage laid Swerve out with a Death Valley Driver into the corner for a two count.
Swerve countered the Drill Claw with a roll-through and sent Cage out of the ring with a back elbow. Swerve whacked Cage with a thrust kick on the apron, setting him up for a slingshot double stomp into the floor. Back in the ring, Swerve crushed Cage with a 450 Splash for a nearfall. Cage planted Swerve with a pop up powerbomb and a sitout powerbomb, but he kicked out at two. Swerve countered the Drill Claw with a hurracarrana before they started exchanging blows to the head. Swerve managed to counter a pop up powerbomb with a double stomp and snapped his arm with a stomp. Before Cage could react, Swerve knocked him out with a House Call kick for the win.
WINNER: Swerve Strickland at 14:49 (***3/4)
– After the match, Swerve Strickland grabbed a chair and whacked Brian Cage with it. Christian Cage showed up on the ramp with Shayna Wayne, only for Nick Wayne to attack him from behind with a low blow. Killswitch clobbered Swerve with a big boot while Wayne grabbed a portrait of Swerve’s family. Wayne smashed the portrait on Swerve’s head, making him bleed. Cage said that this was for embarrassing his son a year ago before rubbing the picture on Swerve’s face. Cage said that he took Swerve’s blood this week and in two weeks, he would take his world title.

– A teaser for Renee Paquette and RJ City’s new show A Meal and a Match was shown.
– Backstage, Renee Paquette asked Hook about having to face the odds to take on Chris Jericho again. Katsuyori Shibata told Hook that he also wanted another shot at Jericho. They had a face-off, until Samoa Joe interrupted to mock Hook for letting Jericho get to his head. Joe told Hook and Shibata that they could be dangerous if they stopped playing games. As Joe walked away, Shibata said that Joe was too big to wear a floral pattern.
(5) TONI STORM vs. HARLEY CAMERON
Storm knocked Cameron down with a shoulder tackle and put her in a headlock. Cameron caught Storm with a series of knees to the abdomen, until Storm shut her down with a Thesz Press. Storm knocked Cameron off the apron with a running hip attack while Serena Deeb showed up on the ramp to watch. Cameron took advantage of the distraction to smash Storm’s head into the steps and apron, as AEW Dynamite went to commercials.

Back from break, Storm caught Cameron with a back elbow, followed by a backstabber and a DDT. Storm dropped Cameron with a snap fisherman suplex for a close two count. Cameron nailed Storm with Eat Defeat, setting her up for a sliding knee strike for a two count Storm put Cameron down with Sky High before they traded various pinning combinations. Storm faked-out Cameron and knocked her out with Storm Zero.
WINNER: Toni Storm at 7:09 (***)
– After the match, Toni Storm and Serena Deeb had a face-off across the ramp.
RODERICK STRONG & WILL OSPREAY FACE-TO-FACE
– Backstage, Arkady Aura interviewed Will Ospreay and Roderick Strong about their upcoming match. Ospreay called out Strong and his group for letting Shane Taylor attack him and stand tall over his body. Ospreay said that since Strong never showed him respect, he didn’t respect him either. He talked about how Strong always looked down on him at ROH, PWG and PROGRESS.
– Strong called Ospreay an idiot out of the ring for trying to play the responsible man. Strong put over how he overcame a neck injury, but he still worked hard to get what he has. He called Ospreay a fraud, a coward and a child while Ospreay told Strong that he would teach him a lesson in humility. Ospreay said that he was the best wrestler in the world and he would show him why at Double Or Nothing.
WILLOW NIGHTINGALE & MERCEDES MONE CONTRACT SIGNING
– Renee Paquette introduced Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone for their contract signing. Willow told Mone that she respected everything she had done before asking her if she respected the TBS title. Willow put over the meaning and legacy that the TBS title represented. She told Willow that this title mattered to hear and wouldn’t let her just walk into AEW and take it away.
– Mone put over her own legacy of breaking glass ceilings and claimed that Willow was great, but she was the greatest of all time. Mone claimed that they are already looking at the next face of TBS. Willow told Mone that the last time they wrestled, she walked out a champion while Mone didn’t walk out at all. Mone slapped Willow, only for Willow to put her through the table with the Doctor Bomb.

(6) KAZUCHIKA OKADA vs. DAX HARWOOD – AEW Continental Championship
They started the match exchanging headlock takeovers, until Dax nearly put Okada in a Sharpshooter. Okada pummeled Dax with right hands, only for Dax to blast him with a chop to the chest. Dax smashed Okada’s head into the turnbuckle, but Okada knocked him down with a shoulder tackle and threw him shoulder-first into the ring post, as AEW Dynamite went to its final commercial break.

Back from break, Okada missed a corner back elbow, allowing Dax to lay him out with a spinebuster. Okada sat Dax atop the turnbuckle and sent him out of the ring with a dropkick. Okada blasted Dax with a running boot into the barricade before they started exchanging elbow strikes. Before Dax could react, Okada planted him with a draping DDT on the floor. Dax was barely able to return to the ring in time and counter the Rainmaker with a pair of German suplexes. Okada caught Dax with a boot to the face, but Dax retaliated with a punch to the face and a dragon suplex.
They exchanged chops, until Dax was able to block a dropkick. Okada kicked Dax away, making his head crash into the turnbuckle pad. Dax hit Okada with a back elbow, but Okada dropped him with the neckbreaker onto his knee for a close nearfall. Dax planted Okada with a superplex, leaving both men knocked down on the mat. They traded right hands, until Dax knocked Okada off his feet with a chop to the chest. Dax caught Okada off-guard with a discus lariat, only for Okada to counter the springboard powerbomb with a hurracarrana.
Okada was able to kick Dax away, only for Dax to spike him with a Tombstone Piledriver for a close two count. Dax missed a diving headbutt, but was still able to avoid the Rainmaker. Dax trapped Okada in a Sharpshooter, forcing him to crawl for the ropes. Okada tried to walk away with the title belt, until Dax tossed him back in. The referee took the belt away, allowing Okada to finish Dax with a low blow into the ropes and a Rainmaker.
WINNER: Kazuchika Okada at 16:05 (Still AEW Continental Champion) (***3/4)
– After the match, The Elite ran down to assault Dax Harwood, until Bryan Danielson and Cash Wheeler showed up to make the save. The Elite overpowered their opponents, until a returning Darby Allin appeared to join team AEW and force the Elite to retreat.
