Caitlin Clark and the Big #3!

Ice Cube and his basketball league the Big 3, have extended an offer to women’s college basketball star Caitlin Clark. The Big 3 has offered Clark 5 million to play one season in his league.  The Big 3 season is 8 games long with two playoff games so a possibility of 10 games or 500k a game.

We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship,” Ice Cube wrote on X. “But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.

Clark is expected to be the WNBA’s No. 1 draft pick on April 15 by the Indiana Fever. WNBA rookie salaries for lottery draft picks (Nos. 1 through 4) in 2024 are $76,535 and climb to $97,582 by their fourth season. The WNBA had this to say;

“Caitlin Clark stands to make a half million dollars or more in WNBA earnings this coming season, in addition to what she will receive through endorsements and other partnerships, which has been reported to already exceed $3 million.”

I am not sure if that was a, hey go ahead and make that money or a, you will be fine without the Big 3 as th WNBA has not given the okay for this to take place or not. There are many that would love to see her play with the men and see how her game plays out. She is one of the best shooters in all of basketball, men or women’s game. But not everyone is so sure. Ex-NBA star Kenyon Martin had this to say;

It’s a step under prison ball,” the former NBA player said of the Big3’s action on Gilbert Arenas‘ “Gil’s Arena Show.” “Could you imagine her getting stuck down on Reggie Evans?”

I think what she could bring is something that is long overdue. Men and women playing together. If it has to be in a different league then so be it. Anyone who has ever watched a WNBA game can see the talent to play is there, kudos to you Ice Cube.  Stay with EDF Lifestyle for more great content
