It had been too long since I did an update interview with author John Cosper. Although it was a quiet year on the surface for Cosper, a lot was brewing in his head and I got the scoop on all of it.
Over the years, Cosper has created a large bibliography. With many of his books on my bookshelf already, I am always adding more.
I first came across Cosper many years ago thanks to Mad Man Pondo, a wrestling legend with whom I worked at Resistance Pro Wrestling more than a decade ago. Cosper worked with Pondo on his book. Capturing the essence of Pondo couldn’t be easy, but Cosper nailed it. Memoirs of a Mad Man was great. After that, I started adding other Cosper wrestling books to my collection. Books about Wahoo McDaniel, Chris Candido, Princess Victoria, Scott Romer and several others were just as interesting.
John just isn’t a wrestling author. He is a wrestling historian. He especially excels at telling the stories of wrestlers who may be overlooked, such as his book with Princess Victoria. Nobody could capture her story better than Cosper and that’s what keeps others coming to him to tell their stories.
Then came Dead Park Plaza, a book of short horror stories at a fictional office building. Not a huge fan of short stories, I still got the book, as I wanted to see Cosper’s fictional writing. I read it in one sitting. I loved it. It was funny, quirky, scary, mysterious and more. After interviewing Cosper around then, I was happy to hear he planned more Dead Park books. Now with four Dead Park books, I got the scoop at least two more are in the works. The more the merrier for me. Through four Dead Park books, Cosper has kept the stories fresh, incorporating other Dead Park areas into the mix.
This year is going to be big for Cosper though. He reveals planned publication dates for several books and I can’t wait for each of them. Stay tuned here for updates as Cosper’s books are released this year.
