The Milwaukee Bucks have found their man and it is long-time NBA coach Doc Rivers. This 30-13 Bucks team sitting 3.5 games behind the Boston Celtics in second place in the Eastern Conference but looking like a team in disarray. The hope is Rivers can come in and put things back in order for a team many believe has a real chance at another title this season.
General manager Jon Horst had this to say yesterday;
“This is not about players comments,” Horst said, via ESPN. “This is not about things said or unsaid. This is my job. This is the organization’s job at the top to evaluate every single day all areas of the organization and feel like whether we’re getting or not getting the most we can out of that group. If we feel like we could maximize the talent of this group better, we made a change. That’s why we made it.”
Rivers was fired by the 76ers at the end of last season, and was a runner-up to Frank Vogel for the Suns’ coaching job, before accepting an analyst role on ESPN and ABC’s NBA game coverage. After a short stint at ESPN David Roberts, ESPN’s head of event and studio production, said in a statement.
“We wish Doc well and we look forward to documenting the next chapter of his coaching career. We have a deep roster of supremely talented commentators who will continue to serve NBA fans with tremendous skill, passion and expertise,”
The Bucks plan of a championship this season took a bump, but there is no better people person in the NBA than Doc, so they took a great first step with the hire. Stay with EDF Lifestyle for more NBA News.
