Today th NFL playoff kicks off with a couple of great games beginning with the Detroit Lions taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Detroit for the right to take on the 49ers next week in the NFC Championship game. Detroit looked good last week and Tampa Bay took care of the Eagles in easy fashion. Another game, another chance at making a little cash.

The Lions are a -6.5 favorite and for good reason, they are good. The Lions averaged 27.1 points per game this season, ranking in the top five of the NFL, and generated 2.41 points per offensive possession across 17 games and at home that goes up to 30.5 points and 408.8 total yards per game. Take this with the fact the Buccaneers are landing in the bottom ten of the league in total yards allowed, passing yards allowed, third down efficiency. Jared Goff threw for 353 yards in a game played in Tampa back in October and we are to see more of that today.
The Buccaneers come into Detroit off a big win over the Eagles in the first round. a team that had a huge defensive identity gained a bit of offense as well. Baker Mayfield threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions and looked like the Mayfield of past. The defense is still strong holding the Eagles running game to 42 yards, the fewest for Philadelphia since 2018. Tampa Bay also held Philadelphia to 0-11 on third and fourth down, that is dominant! the Buccaneers finished No. 7 in allowing only 19.1 points per game and gave up only 15.0 points per game during a 6-1 stretch leading into the divisional round.

In saying this one should be a shootout the score should be high. The Lions come in covering the over going 7-3 in their previous 10 contests overall. The Buccaneers have scored at least 29 points in four of their last six contests. Both defenses have been studs against the run so the pass will be plenty. Take the over and the money.
