There is really something therapeutic about just ranting, it just, kicks the day off. Some things just have to be said and why not me to say it? So let’s get right to it.
The Lakers have done it! they have set themselves up for the long haul. That’s right for the next four years they are set…NOT! The Lakers hired long-time player, analyst, podcaster, JJ Redick as the head ball coach. Notice in there nowhere did I mention coach of any kind on his resume as this will be his first venture as a coach of any kind. But hey, he played the game and he talks game with LeBron on his pod so he has that right? It goes to show just how messed up this game is.
Last week Detriot fires Mote Williams after one year and then JJ gets the Laker job? In what basketball world does that make sense? Then almost in the same sentence they announce JJ it comes out that Bronny James basically will only go to the Suns or Lakers. So they hire a guy with no experience to coach a guy with little talent and that guy with little talent has his father on the same team. Yeah, this should work out just right… for the rest of the West! That team has been a joke and will remain there.
The Celtics won the NBA title! Okay, I can give them the props for going through all the teams put before them, as that is all you can do, but come on man, really? Don’t get me wrong they are a good team, but the Nuggets beat this team in 6. hell the Thunder could have taken them to 7 and the Timberpups would have won it in 7 as well. The talk that Tatum and Brown are going to win more than one is just Ludacris, they will not make it out of the second round if all East teams come in healthy.
The Olympics are set to kick off next month and that means USA Basketball! I was so hyped, then I saw the schedule and noticed the USA is in the same group as Serbia, in fact they play game one against them and Jokic! Should be a great game but in no way a give me for Team USA. Serbia is ranked number 4 in the world and when Jokic is on it will take all the USA has to beat this team. The USA has always dominated the world in our game but the world is catching up and teams like Canada, Germany and Spain are not sure wins any longer as each team has its fair share of NBA players and any bad game for the USA could be a loss. The USA will win the gold but they will fight for this one.
