The AFC Championship is set as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 27-24 in Buffalo. This was the seventh meeting between Mahomes and Josh Allen and the win brings Mahomes to a 4-3 advantage. even better is the 3-0 advantage Mahomes has over Allen in the playoffs. This one had many opportunities on both sides to gain an advantage that may have won the game.
This was another classic battle between these two rivals as they both went up and down the field on the other’s defense. The Buffalo defense did a good job holding the Chiefs to two early field goals as the Bills put up a FG and a touchdown. It may have been more about the missed opportunities than the made ones. For the Bills, They gave up big plays over 30+ yards several times in the game. Stephon Diggs the best wideout the Bills have, had only 21 receiving yards and dropped a few key big plays. Then there was the fake punt that went very wrong and to top it all off the missed 44-yard field goal that could have tied the game ( or the third down conversion they missed right before the kick).
For the Chiefs, it was more of what they could not do. They get down deep in Buffalo territory and you twice only get a FG? Then you get a great turnover, again deep in their end, and trying to reach for the endzone you get a fumble and touchback. But in the end, the Chiefs made the first down they needed to secure the win.
Jordan Poyer forces a Mecole Hardman fumble that goes through the end zone resulting in a Bills touchback.
The @BuffaloBills win probability increased from 17.4% to 40.9% as a result of the play (+23.5%).#KCvsBUF | #BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/Go1jzAWd95

For the loss, the BIlls get to stay home, stay warm and recover from the year. The Chiefs for their big win get a trip to Baltimore and MVP Lamar Jackson. A place that may be just as hard to win in as any in the NFL. The Ravens had a big win against Houston to get to the AFC Championship and they look as good as they have all season. Good luck!
