Yes, you read that right, the Lions have won a home playoff game and what a win it was. The Lions beat the Rams 24-23 in a game that featured the return of Matt Stafford, the long-time QB for the Lions. Stafford was a favorite in Detroit for all the years he played there but this time he was the enemy. On the other side, Detroit QB Jerrod Goff, a long-time Rams QB, was looking for some redemption for being moved out ofย LA and he got all of that.
The game started out just as the Lions wanted it, taking the ball first and going right down for a score. In fact they went down on their first three drives to score TDs. Lucky for them, that was where the game was won. The Detroit defense stopped the Rams inside the red zone on several drives that led to field goals and not touchdowns. Goff finished with 277 yards with one touchdown and NO interceptions and controlled the game to his liking.
Goff vs. Stafford was worth the hype in the first half ๐ฟ

Goffs favorite target Amon-Ra St. Brown, ended with 110 yards as he was as dominant as he has been all year. The Rams for their part fought back hard and got right back into the game by their defense playing like a Rams defense. But it was the Rams offense that failed in the red zone that was the difference. The Lions stepped up when they needed and if this was all not enough for Lions fans, they get another home game next week. So get ready football fans, the Lions have arrived, after 30 years they are back and hope to stay around for a long time!
