The Dallas Cowboys took one of the biggest losses in the organization’s history. The Green Bay Packers went into Dallas and took care of the Cowboys with a 42-32 butt smack that could be heard across the NFL. The Cowboys have not been to a conference title game since 1996 and 8 times during this span they have been a one-and-done in the playoffs. To make it a bit worse they got beat by the youngest team in the NFL
The Cowboys expectations for this year were even higher than normal. They have an MVP-caliber QB in Prescott, a great defense with the best defensive player in the game and they just win in the regular season. The result was another playoff loss, so what is next? Many fans and pundits are calling for Coach McCarthy to move on today and the team to go in another direction. After all how much time do they have with the team they have? As well, a great time to look for a new coach as the list of people available is a whos who of coaches, so if you do it, do it now and grab a HOF coach to make this team move.
So who could it be to lead this team to the Super Bowl? The GOAT, Bill Belichick is one name that is a heavy one out there. After parting ways with New England this week and making it clear he will coach again, this seems like a great fit. As for owner Jerry Jones, he had this to say after the tough loss;
“I don’t want to get into any of the addressing of any aspects of any part of it, from the coaching to the players to what’s around the corner,” Jones said. “On a personal basis, I’m floored. Not that there’s any world’s smallest violin for me being floored. I get that. I understand that. I know where the responsibility starts and ends. And I’ve got that real clear.”
“This one’s burned into our soul out here tonight,” Jones said.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he has not yet thought about head coach Mike McCarthy’s future for even one second.

There are other great coaches available such as Vrabel, who led the Tennessee Titans to the AFC championship game in the 2019 season. He was fired Tuesday and could be a great coach to run this Cowboys team. Then there is a belief that Harbough from Michigan is listening to offers and he just won a title in CFB so he too could be a great catch. The point is there are plenty of better options for Jones and the Cowboys to make a better run at least at a conference title game. Whatever they do they must do something as doing the same thing over and over and failing is just called gross negligence and fans deserve better.
