The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. The score was 32-9. You might say wow this was a blowout and it was but it was a 1 score game up until the third quarter.
This has to be the most historic meltdown for the Eagles possibly ever. How do you start off the season going 10-1 and go 1-5 in the last 6 games of the season? Not to mention the last QB the Eagles beat within the past month was Tommy Devito and Tyrod Taylor of the New York Giants.
Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie and GM Howie Roseman have to take a few steps back and look at everything that is presented to them and they have to make a decision on who they want to fire. I personally would like to see HC Nick Sirianni come back even though this season was not what we all thought it would be. I would definitely fire Brian Johnson, Matt Patricia, and Sean Desai. All 3 of them have been liabilities all season, we can’t trust them and the players couldn’t either.
The offense for Philly was terrible, there’s no way around it. This team is too talented to have only scored 6 points, Eagles WR AJ Brown did not play in the game but that is no excuse either. QB Jalen Hurts finished the game 25/35 for 250 yards, 1 TD, and sacked 3 times. Hurts took a safety from the 14-yard line, that should never happen. For some reason, Hurts has been holding the ball longer than he is supposed to. I like that he keeps his eyes downfield but sometimes you have to throw it out of bounds or use your running back for the checkdown. Speaking of checkdowns, that is something the Eagles did not do enough this season. It may not be a flashy play but I rather take positive yards than to have a negative play.
In this game Hurts was blitzed on 54% of dropbacks, the offense had NO answer for the blitz, none whatsoever. And you would think Sirianni would come up with some sort of game plan since Tampa Bay is the 3rd most blitz-happy team in the league currently but no.
The run game was nonexistent, they had 42 total rushing yards. Once again, it comes down to bad playcalling and lack of execution. And on top of that the Eagles went 0/11 when you combine 3rd and 4th downs throughout the game. Coaching has been very bad for this team on both sides of the ball. OC Brian Johnson seems to only know 3 plays, WR Screen, QB Draw, and Four Verticals. They were held scoreless in 3 of the 4 quarters in this game.
DeVonta Smith was the only player that showed up for the Eagles. He finished the game with 8 receptions for 148 yards.
Eagles defense was in shambles. The first thing that comes to mind is tackling. The tackling was so bad the commentators on the broadcast questioned if the Eagles even wanted to be there. They were slow and lacked effort in getting to the ball. They did show promise at times, especially when they had 3 consecutive three and outs. CB James Bradberry is cooked and needs to be released from the team, he allowed a perfect passer rating of 158.3 when he was targeted during this game. The only players that showed up were Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox.
Eagles C Jason Kelce announced that he will be retiring from the NFL.

He had a wonderful career and will be missed. Some of his stats:
- 7X Pro Bowl
- 6X AP All-Pro 1st Team
- 1X Super Bowl Champ
- 193 Games Started
- 12 Playoff Games Started
This season was a huge letdown after hoping to go back to the Super Bowl.
