Pinfalls: WWE King and Queen of the Ring

The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring airs live at noon CST on Saturday, May 25 from the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is the 23rd King of the Ring and the second Queen of the Ring.

First held in 1985, the King of the Ring tournament crowned Don Muraco as the inaugural King. Over the years, the tournament has shifted between a pay-per-view event and a regular show. The Queen of the Ring debuted in 2021 as the Queen’s Crown. This year, the tournament returns as a PPV event, rebranded as The King and Queen of the Ring.

As always, my The Johngy “OR ELSE” Podcast partner Tommy Else and I analyzed the matches and made our predictions. Due to scheduling, we had to record this prior to the SmackDown matches determining the final King and Queen participants. Still, we forged forward and made our picks. Overall on the year, I hold a slight edge over Tommy (20-7, 18-9), but he has a one victory lead in lifetime stats. We have some differences, but you’ll have to watch to learn how we both picked.

The matches are:

Undisputed WWE Champion
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. United States Champion Logan Paul

Women’s World Champion
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring Tournament

Lyra Valkyria vs. Bianca Belair or Nia Jax (TBD)
Gunther vs. Tama Tonga or Randy Orton (TBD)

Intercontinental Champion (Triple Threat Match)
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed

We both seem to think most of the matches could go any way. While I am not excited about some of the matchups, I do like the unpredictable factor and am really looking forward to this event.
