NBA Hands out Postseason Awards, MIP and Sixth Man Awards

The NBA is in the season of giving and by that I mean they are giving out their postseason awards and that means money in the bank for some deserving players. So far the NBA has handed out two awards, the Most Improvd Playr and the Sixth Man of The Year.

On Tuesday the NBA handed out the Most Improved Player to Tyrese Maxey of the Philidelphia 76ers. Maxey having his best season to date secured 51 of 100 first-place votes and led the voting tally with 319 points. White finished second with 32 first-place votes and 305 points. Şengün earned six first-place votes and 92 points.

Then on Wednesday, the NBA handed out the Sixth Man of the Year award to Timberwolves center Naz Reid. The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a great season and are sure to have many more awards this season but this was the first time a Timberwolves has won the award. Reid beat out finalists Malik Monk of the Sacramento Kings and Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks. Reid got 45 out of 100 first-place votes while Monk got 43. They both received the same number of second-place and third-place votes. Reid is only the third undrafted player to win the award in its history, with John Starks in 1996-97 and Darrell Armstrong 1998-99 being the others.

Clutch Player of the Year will be announced on Thursday and Coach of the Year on Sunday, with Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and MVP to be announced later. Stay with EDF Lifestyle for more great NBA content.
